Linnton

Linnton, a former logging town, is a small community located in Northwest Portland along a stretch of the Willamette River. It lies beside the eastern border of Forest Park with NW St. Helens Road stretching along its spine.  Nestled between Forest Park and Sauvie Island, Linnton is a natural haven while only five miles northwest of downtown.

VIBE AND STYLE

Winner of the 2005 Spirit of Portland Award, Linnton prides itself on its community involvement. You’ll fit right in with the other neighbors if you are filled with spunk, civic pride and enjoy some quirky isolation away from the city. The Linnton Community Center sits at the heart of the neighborhood and is a place to host meetings and special events and offers year-round childcare and recreation.

LOCAL SCENE

Linnton eludes a sense of seclusion from the city life as a result of the forested scenery. There are many outdoor recreational activities available once you walk out your front door. If residents are ready to escape the seclusion, the conveniences of downtown are only 5 miles away. Downtown is a little big city known for its food scene, entertainment options, and sporting events.

OUTDOOR SANCTUARY

Linnton is located between two of Portland’s most beautiful places, Sauvie Island and Forest Park. On Sauvie Island you can hang out at the local beaches, fish and camp. There is an abundance of lovely farmland that contributes to the Famers Markets where you can shop for local ingredients. There is easy access to the 500 acre Forest Park via roads and trails. Right in the neighborhood is Linnton Park, an exquisite natural area.
